Premiere: Ciaran Lavery – ‘Return To Form’

Trailing new album 'Let Bad In'

County Antrim native Ciaran Lavery knows how to cut write to the bone.

Armed with his acoustic guitar the singer goes diving into the darkest recesses of the soul, mixing this with a wry, humble and witty sense of humour.

New album 'Let Bad In' builds on the success of his debut, an impressive return from a distinctive new voice.

“Nobody wants to be pigeonholed,” says Lavery. “It’s therapeutic to move into some weird, in-between genres. I’d rather not be pinned down. I always use Tom Waits as an example. The same with Beck. Nobody says, ‘Oh, Beck moves around too much. I don’t get it’. It’s a different sound all the time. He goes from one extreme to the other and it works.”

Clash is able to premiere new cut 'Return To Form' and it's earthy, experience-hewn wisdom is something to behold. Check it out now.

'Let Bad In' will be released on May 27th.
