Premiere: Fiona Brice – ‘Glastonbury’ (Gonjasufi Remix)

A radical re-work from the desert prophet...

Fiona Brice has worked with some fine artists in her career, a multi-instrumentalist whose skills remain almost entirely in demand.

With new album 'Postcards From', however, she stepped confidently into centre-stage. A beguiling, enriching, and poetic album, it is now set to spawn a rather unusual remix EP.

The songwriter's music has been re-worked by producers from vastly different disciplines to her own, resulting in some genuinely startling pieces of music.

'Glastonbury' gets re-worked by Warp's own desert prophet Gonjasufi, and it's a bubbling, lurid, intense piece of psychedelic abstraction.

Fiona Brice explains: "I discovered Gonjasufi’s music via John Grant who played me 'Kowboyz & Indians' and I was immediately drawn to his groove-based psychedelia, which couldn’t really be further from my own orchestral sound. A remix of 'Glastonbury' provided the ideal opportunity to bring these musical worlds together."
